First concertmaster of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Sunao Goko won First Prize at the 2006 Menuhin Competition. Since his 2007 debut as a soloist, he has performed with orchestras including the New Japan Philharmonic, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Osaka Philharmonic, Nagoya Philharmonic, and Sendai Philharmonic, with conductors such as Gerhard Bosse, Kazuyoshi Akiyama, Michiyoshi Inoue, and Kentaro Kawase. Sunao studied with Mami Teshigahara, Gerhard Bosse, Akiko Tatsumi, and Pavel Vernikov. A recording artist for Exton, he plays the 1682 "Banat" Stradivarius, on generous loan from a private owner.
