Stephen Waarts

Stephen Waarts enjoyed a remarkable run of competition victories as a young artist, winning the 2013 YCAT International Auditions and the 2014 Menuhin Competition. He studied at the Kronberg Academy under Mihaela Martin, and at the Curtis Institute with Aaron Rosand. Stephen has performed with orchestras such as the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, hr-Sinfonieorchester, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de Belgique and Halle Orchestra, with conductors including Christoph Eschenbach, Sir Andras Schiff, Marin Alsop and Elim Chan. He released his acclaimed debut recital album for Rubicon Classics in November 2018, with pianist Gabriele Carcano, featuring works by Schumann and Bartók.
