Ryotaro Ito is the Chief Professor of the String Academy at Showa University of Music and a prize winner at the 1987 Menuhin Competition. Ryotaro has held positions as concertmasters with renowned orchestras in his native Japan, spending ten years with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra and nine with the NHK Symphony Orchestra. He has produced multiple recordings for Naxos and Exton, both as a soloist and as part of the String Quartet ARCO, where he was first violin. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Japan and Switzerland. A graduate of the Soloist Diploma Course at Toho Gakuen School of Music, he is currently a lecturer in that institution.
