Rintaro Omiya is principal second violin for the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo. A student of Tatsumi Akiko and Hori Masafumi, Rintaro is a Second Prize winner at the 2002 Menuhin Competition. Also active as a member of chamber orchestras/ensembles such as Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra Tokyo (former Kioi Sinfonietta Tokyo), Hibiki, PACE, Virtuoso Quartet, and Quintet Speranza, Rintaro successfully auditioned to join the NHKSO when he was a senior at Toho Gakuen School of Music. With the NHKSO, he has performed with renowned conductors in prestigious venues across Japan.
