Outstanding Performance in Semi-Finals

Mathieu van Bellen is a laureate of the 2006 Menuhin Competition, earning a prize for Outstanding Performance in Semi-Finals. He is a member of the Busch Trio, a leading chamber music ensemble, with which he performs internationally and releases recordings for Alpha Classics. Mathieu has shared stages in prestigious venues and festivals across Europe with orchestras such as the National Orchestra of Belgium, Gelders Orkest, Holland Symfonia, Southbank Sinfonia, and Camerata Athena. A student of Nico Baltussen, Jan Repko, Itzhak Rashkovsky and Ulf Wallin, Mathieu plays on the ex-Adolf Busch G.B. Guadagnini violin (Turin, 1783), as well as a Dominique Peccatte bow.
