Marcus Tanneberger is a Third Prize winner at the 2002 Menuhin Competition. A graduate of the University of Music and Theatre in Munich, where he studied with Ana Chumachenco, Marcus was first violin of Würzburg University's Appassionata String Quartet. He performed with Igor Oistrakh, Muhai Tang, Christoph Poppen, Howard Golden, Markus Poschner, and George Alexander Albrecht and played concerts with Veronika Eberle, Herbert Schuch, Volker Hiemeyer, Milana Chernyavskaya, Dudana Mazmanishvili and Yumiko Urabe. In addition to his performing career, Marcus is an accomplished aviation pilot. He plays on a 1790 Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi made in Milan, generously loaned to him by a Munich family.
