Maxim Brilinsky is a first violin with the Vienna Philharmonic and a concertmaster of the Vienna Imperial Chapel. A prize winner at the 2002 Menuhin Competition, he studied with Michael Frischenschlager in Vienna and with Jean-Jacques Kantorow in Paris; he is a regular guest concertmaster in the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León in Spain, and held the position of concertmaster for the chamber ensemble Orchestre d'Auvergne before joining the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. In the Austrian capital, he is a lecturer for orchestral literature at the University of Music and performing Arts. His recordings have been released by Sony Classical and Hänssler Classic.
