A prominent voice in shaping the classical music conversation in his home country of China, Liang Chai is a celebrated soloist in his own right, having performed with the most prestigious orchestras in venues around the world. After winning Third Prize at the 1985 Menuhin Competition, he studied with Lin Yaoji in Beijing and with Alice Schoenfeld in California, before receiving a scholarship to attend the Juilliard School and study with Dorothy Delay. His career as an educator led him back to Juilliard, in addition to positions at the New York Brewer School of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Beijing's Central Conservatory of Music.
