Kento Hong began his violin studies at age 6, with Aimee Kreston and her teachers, Almita and Roland Vamos, making his orchestral debut in Los Angeles soon after. Kento was accepted to the Juilliard Pre-college at age 10. At Juilliard, he studies under Dr. Ann Setzer. He had lessons with Elmar Oliveira and Paul Kantor, and shared stages with Jaime Laredo and Sharon Robinson. A New York native and Fourth Prize winner in the 2021 Menuhin Competition, Kento performed in several major venues in his home town, including Merkin Hall, Lincoln Center, the Alice Tully Hall, and Carnegie Hall alongside Maxim Vengerov.
