Karisa Chiu

Karisa Chiu is a prize winner at the 2021 Menuhin Competition. A Curtis graduate and student of Jaime Laredo, Malcolm Lowe, Ida Kavafian, Almita Vamos and her father Cornelius, she is set to further her education at the Juilliard School with Catherine Cho and Donald Weilerstein. Karisa has been featured as a soloist with a number of prestigious orchestras, with new commitments lining up on the way. As a chamber musician, she is a member of the Vieira String Quartet, and has been part of the Calliope Trio and the Atara String Quartet. In 2018, Karisa won a Chicago Symphony Orchestra substitute violin position and has been performing with them regularly since.
