Janine Jansen is the Founder and Artistic Director of the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, and a Professor of Violin at the HÉMU Valais and at Kronberg Academy. As a performer, she received multiple honours, such as being Artist-in-Residence at London's Wigmore Hall and the main feature of the Janine Jansen Bach Festival at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam; she has worked with celebrated conductors, including Sir Antonio Pappano and Paavo Järvi. Janine is a prolific recording artist, releasing exclusively for Decca. She studied with Coosje Wijzenbeek, Philipp Hirshhorn and Boris Belkin, and plays on the Shumsky-Rode Stradivarius from 1715, on generous loan from a European benefactor.
