Ilya Gringolts is a sought-after soloist who has shared stages with renowned orchestras all over the world. From his violin, he has conducted the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Camerata Bern, Ensemble Resonanz, and the Finnish Baroque Orchestra in an award-winning recording. Ilya has a rich discography for Deutsche Grammophon, BIS, and Hyperion. As first violinist of the Gringolts Quartet, Ilya has appeared in major venues and festivals. A student of Tatiani Liberova and Zhanneta Metallidi in St. Petersburg, and of Itzhak Perlman at the Juilliard School of Music. Ilya is a prize winner at the 1995 Menuhin Competition. He plays a Stradivari (1718 "ex-Prové") violin.
