The winner of the First Prize at the 2006 Menuhin Competition, Hrachya Avanesyan is a celebrated soloist and recording artist. His performances have taken him to prestigious concert halls such as Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, London's Wigmore Hall, Salle Gaveau and Théatre des Champs Elysées in Paris, Santury Hall in Tokyo, the Danish Radio Concert Hall in Copenhagen, the National Auditorium in Madrid, and St. David's Hall in Cardiff alongside Joshua Bell and Maxim Vengerov. Hrachya's recording activity for Fuga Libera, BIS and Rubicon has earned critical acclaim. He studied under Igor Oistrakh, Augustin Dumay and Mihaela Martin, and he plays on a 1864 J.B. Vuillaume.
