At age 11, Hong-Ying Ho began her studies at the Central Conservatory of Beijing. At 14, she became a student of Dorothy Delay following a prize win at the China National Violin Competition. She won Fourth Prize at the first ever edition of the Menuhin Competition in 1983, and subsequently enrolled at the Julliard School where she obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Hong-Ying has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic, Shenzhen Symphony and Jupiter Symphony. Together with Mary Wu and Sarah Gaye, Hong-Ying established the Bauhinia Piano Trio in 1994. She is also a dedicated educator, with over 30 years of teaching experience.
