German-Japanese Elisabeth Yohko Glass is an accomplished soloist who has taken up repeated engagements at orchestras including the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Orquestra Nacional d´Espagna, the London Symphony Orchestra, the “Rai” Orchestras in Italy and the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig. A First Prize and Bach Prize winner at the 1987 Menuhin Competition, and a Second Prize winner in 1985, Elisabeth studied under Thomas Brandis, Zakhar Bron and Uwe-Martin Haiberg, receiving further mentorship from Nathan Milstein, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Kurt Masur, Herbert Blomstedt and Christian Thielemann. She plays on a 1847 Joseph Rocca, on loan from a private source.
