Dmitry Smirnov is a Second Prize winner at the 2008 Menuhin Competition. An established soloist, Dmitry made his Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall debuts before the age of fifteen, and performed with the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra Saint-Petersbourg, Moscow Philharmonic State and Chamber Orchestra of Moscow, Lucerne Festival Strings, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Argovia Philharmonic and more. Dmitry is a recording artist for Prospero Classical, has worked with groups such as Il Pomo D’oro and Il Giardino Armonico, and has appeared at festivals in Europe and South America. He studied under mentors such as Elena Zaiceva, Pavel Vernikov and Rainer Schmidt.
