Winner of the First Prize at the 1993 Menuhin Competition, Daishin Kashimoto is the first concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker. At age seven, Daishin became the youngest student to ever attend Julliard School’s pre-college program, before studying under Zakhar Bron at age eleven and Rainer Kussmaul soon after. Daishin is a sought-after performer, both as a soloist and as a recitalist, appearing on the world's most prestigious stages with acclaimed conductors. Daishin has been the artistic director of the Le Pont Music Festival in Ako and Himeji, Japan, since 2007. He plays on a del Gesu 1744 “de Beriot” kindly loaned by Crystco, Inc. and its chairman Mr. Hikaru Shimura.
