A Second Prize winner at the 1995 Menuhin Competition, Corina Belcea studied with Radu Bozgan and Stefan Gheorghiu, with Natalia Boyarskaya at the Yehudi Menuhin School, and with Felix Andrievsky at the Royal College of Music. Corina founded the Belcea Quartet, a mainstay on chamber music calendars across the world, in venues such as the Vienna Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Tonhalle in Zurich and Toppan Hall in Tokyo. With the Quartet, Corina has commissioned new work by current composers, including Guillaume Connesson, Krzysztof Penderecki and Julian Anderson. A Violin Professor at the University for the Arts in Bern, Corina Belcea plays on a 1755 Giovanni Battista Guadagnini kindly on loan from MERITO String Instruments Trusts Vienna.
