Wang Liang, a prize winner in the 1985 Menuhin Competition, is the Second Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also appeared as guest concertmaster for notable orchestras in Asia and Europe. Having studied with Professor Lin Yaoji, Sadao Harada and Rainer Kussmaul, Wang is a passionate educator himself: he has given masterclasses at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Music Department of Hong Kong Baptist University. Wang Liang plays a 1788 Joseph Gagliano violin, donated by The Ladies Committee of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society.
