First Prize winner at the 2002 Menuhin Competition, Chiharu Taki is a soloist, recitalist and recording artist mainly active in her native Japan. Chiharu gave her debut recital at Kioi Hall in 2008, and subsequently performed with the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ken Takaseki. She also performed at the Berlin Philharmonie with the New Symphony Orchestra Berlin under the baton of Seitaro Ishikawa, and as concertmaster of the Fondation Animato Orchestra in Switzerland. A student of Reiko Kaminishi, Akiko Tatsumi, Zakhar Bron and Sashko Gavrilov, Chiharu began playing the violin at age 5.
