Chen Gu

Right after being awarded Fourth Prize at the 2000 Menuhin Competition, Chen Gu joined the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, becoming a permanent member in 2001 and the Associate Concertmaster soon after. Chen performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra as guest concertmaster before becoming a full-time concertmaster with the Macao Orchestra and then Guiyang Symphony Orchestra. In Macao and Guiyang, he has performed as a soloist and in recitals as well as with his main orchestras. A student of Peter Zhang, he has taken on teaching roles himself, forming a new generation of performers at the Macau Polytechnic Institute.
