Chad Hoopes is a First Prize winner at the 2008 Menuhin Competition. A student of Ana Chumachenco, David Cerone and Joel Smirnoff, Chad began playing violin at age three, and has since shared stages with leading orchestras such as The Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, and more across the United States. In his recitals, he has performed at the Ravinia Festival, Tonhalle Zürich, the Louvre, and at Lincoln Center’s Great Performers series in New York City. He plays the 1991 ex-Isaac Stern Zygmuntowicz and a 1766 G.B. Guadagnini.
