Kloster SchoentalSenior 2nd prize winner of the Menuhin Competition 2008, Jiafeng Chen will be one of the soloists performing at the opening concert of the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition.

This concert is the result of a collaboration between European Music Competitions for Youth who are members of the EMCY.

In honour of Yehudi Menuhin, Jiafeng will play the lesser known Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in D minor, composed by Felix Mendelssohn when he was only 13 years old. The concert was rediscovered by Menuhin in 1951.
