Maxim Vengerov will take to the podium to conduct
for Joshua Bell in the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, along with dazzling
performances by Akiko Ono and Hrachya Avanesyan, winners of the Menuhin
Competition 2000 and 2006. The evening also sees the world premiere of "Elegy
for Arthur" composed by Mervyn Burtch with libretto by Mark Morris. Commissioned
for the Competition - performed by "Queen of Harps" Catrin Finch and
one of Wales' most innovative choirs Serendipity.
